A machine is comprised of, essentially, two parts. The first part is the material; what it's made of, its parts, the tool itself. The second part is whoever uses it.

The Raven and the Armored Core; two separate entities, but one machine. When a man or woman climbs into the cockpit, they cease to be simply 'human'. Some have said that the Core acts as an Avatar for those who pilot them, embodying their will in a whirlwind of destruction and carnage. It is my belief that this is not true. Instead, the hand that guides the machine is just a cog in a greater machine, the very same one that drives us all onward. The pilots of these almost mythical titans, the Ravens... They are used, and they understand that it is necessary on some level. Humans are controlled in the same way as machines are, but there are some who possess the ability to shake off this control and stand on their own.
