Armored Core VI: Defeating Ibis with mostly stock parts and Minimal OS tune (Reg 1.02)
Salutations,
I have my AC outfitted with mostly stock outer parts. Easily acquirable equipment such as the secondary Chadlow (ludlow) and the weapon bay. I also reset my OS tuning and only bought the weapon bay to house the BUTTA Laser (BU-TT/A). Which will be one of your main damage dealers in this fight.
As for the inner parts, these ones you'd have to buy. But I think they're quite easily acquirable, and if anything, a substantial upgrade for this and the entirety of the game. In my opinion.
Fighting Ibis can be frustrating if you're using weapons that are too close, like Zimmers, or too slow, like bazookas. She's fast and can be very unpredicatable. I would recommend using a very decent FCS within the Close and Medium range that would help facilitate a better track for your weapons. And to support that FCS, a perfect weapon: a Machinegun.
I personally would've used the pistols for this fight for its high impact per shot ratio than the MG, but I figured people would forget about the low ammo during the high stress portions. So I opted for the MG with a decently high round count and decent damage and impact rate.
Now why did I choose the Thrusters and Generator? Simply put, recharge rate and delay. Ibis loves to sparkle you with funnels and you'll be busy dodging them most of the time. To better support surviving, you'd want to utilize the vertical. The generator and the Thruster, with careful management, allows you to dodge most of her passive damage throughout the fight by simply dropping out of the sky and staying level with her.
And additionally: Speed. You can change directions quickly and keep MOVING. If you stop, you're just taking free damage. It is imperative you utilize the vertical and side strafes, but also staying close. I mean be very very aggressive. Don't fly towards her, or boost towards her though, but be aggressive. You need to be within' range for your machineguns. I mean hold those suckers down until she staggers. Then you close in with your BUTTA lasers.
Be patient and repeat.
And that's pretty much all there is to it. STAY FAST.
