After AI surveillance wrongfully identified Michael Oliver as having a felony warrant out for his arrest, he was pulled over and charged for a crime he did not commit. 'There's so much risk of that tool being misused or weaponized against one population.' Deborah Raji is a tech fellow at the AI Now Institute in New York who has worked closely with the Algorithmic Justice League Initiative, which aims to prevent AI technology from amplifying racism, sexism, and other forms of discrimination.
