Asbestos in Gas Masks not just the filters

0A requested video, confirming that yes some masks had asbestos in the masks themselves and not just the filters.
In this video I confirm that the German VM37 and VM40 masks had white asbestos/chrysotile inside the mask surrounding the intake thread, I have no idea what this was actually for however as it doesn't contribute to making an air-tight seal, perhaps it was designed to absorb sweat.
