✦ VIDEO NOTES ✦

This is by no means supposed to be an in-depth guide on every feature. More so to answer questions like “What will Ashes of Creation have?” “What will the PVP be like?” "How will the race choice affect me?"

The goal is to show you with a little detail, what this new MMORPG will have to offer in terms of gameplay.

I focused on showing you as many game features as I can as opposed to telling you lots of details cause details can change drastically from now to the time Ashes of Creation is playable. No specific system is certain to be the way they’ve been described cause the game is still in early stages of development.

Everything I talked about is from livestreams, Q&A’s, announcements, trailers, compiled information documents, and forum posts.

The expected beta dates and alpha dates are from comments and posts of Intrepid Studio staff.

✦ THOUGHTS ON THE GAME ✦

• It's giving me that ArcheAge vibe, but definitely more PVE than PVP in comparison to ArcheAge, BDO, Bless or anything like that.

• The "meaningful conflict" is my worry cause I prefer games with lots of PVP. Let's hope that the philosophy will not spoil the PVP by making us have to "look" hours for "PVP". We'll see.

• The race names are pretty cool (hopefully I didn't butcher saying them). I hope the lore for them are just as interesting.

• I can't say the same about those archetype names though. I mean.. tank.. mage..

• I quite like how the secondary archetype AND race affects the skills and class, which means that there can be at least 512 different variations. I'm interested to see how varied the combat for say a dwarf tank-fighter or Py'Rai Elf tank-fighter.

• I'm not sure how I feel about the fact that the game will have a "mana" or "energy" system cause I've seen it done in terrible ways.. but there are games that have managed to do it well.

• More thoughts and "review" type of commentary towards the end of the video.

Will there be factions?
No. This is a non-faction based game. Players are open to interact with anyone and everyone.

Will there be crafting?
There is a very in-depth and crucial crafting system in the game that will be built into class progression, which players can choose to level concurrently with their primary adventuring class.

Will there be important non-combat related objective gameplay activities?
Farming/breeding/cooking.
Farming/breeding/cooking and crafting in general is of EXTREME importance in this world.

When can I play?
SOON TM, try your best to get an alpha key or beta key!

Will there be a labor system in Ashes of Creation?
No

Will there be hireable NPC like in Black Desert Online?
There will be some NPC for Node guards and caravan defenders for fighting against bandits in open world PVP caravan attacks.
(strength and numbers depending on node level).

Will the "classes" be balanced?
We can't say for sure, but their system is supposed to allow flexibility with secondary archetypes only being augments to the primaries. This will allow ease of change for balancing.

Is Ashes of Creation worth playing? I can't tell yet, we need a lot more information before I can say it's worth downloading and playing. It IS worth following though.

Underrealm race confirmed?
Yep, Tulnar is a go! We reached that stretch goal on Kickstarter.
