Please excuse some audio issues due to the windy day. Normally I record indoor on days such as today ;-) The mainstream media are *finally* waking up to the very real possibility that their career and worse, their lives might be effected by the most dangerous attack by the Trump administration on the first amendment and press freedom. Surprisingly MSNBC including Russiagater Rachel Maddow, some in the Murdoch press, The New York Times and others have been *finally* voicing their concern for the extreme attack by Trump on the first amendment where 17 charges under the Espionage Act have been brought against Wikileaks publisher Julian Assange recently simply for the "crime" of journalism. Most mainstream media recognise that what Assange did in relation to whistleblower Chelsea Manning, is not dissimilar to what all journalists do every day of the week and now realise their head is on the chopping block as well. It's unfortunate it has taken them this long, and also that THEY have been one of the reasons that Assange is possibly going to be extradited to the US and be locked in solitary confinement for the rest of his life (175 years sentence), possibly tortured (solitary confinement is torture), and that will be the last we will see or hear from Assange. It is a terrible injustice what is happening to Assange. It is time for all of us to spread independent news about this issue, contact politicians and insist they speak out about this important issue of press freedom and ask them to do what they can to help save Julian Assange's life.
