Assassin's Creed Unity Could Restore Notre-Dame Cathedral - Free Assassin's Creed Unity
2Following the devastating fire that wrought huge damage to Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris on Monday, donations to restore the landmark have come flooding in from numerous sources, totalling more than €700 million in just over two days. Ubisoft has added €500,000 to that total to help in the reconstruction and restoration of the iconic building.
What's more, Assassin's Creed Unity could prove instrumental in helping to properly restore Notre-Dame de Paris, thanks to the work of developer Ubisoft Paris and Senior Artist Caroline Miousse, whose efforts on the 2014 game may help map out restorations. Miousse spent the best part of two years authentically recreating Notre-Dame down to the placement of each brick.
Ubisoft has not only donated €500K towards rebuilding Notre-Dame Cathedral, but has also made Assassin's Creed Unity free on PC. "Video games can enable us to explore places in ways we never could have otherwise imagined," Ubisoft added. "We hope, with this small gesture, we can provide everyone an opportunity to appreciate our virtual homage to this monumental piece of architecture."
