Assassin's Creed Unity - Vive la Paris! Vive la révolution!
"No one lives forever."
To many, Assassin's Creed Unity represents the dying spirit of the core Assassin's Creed's formula, before it was torn, mangled and ripped apart into something barely recognizable as Assassin's Creed today. I had played every AC title from 2007 until 2015's AC Syndicate and to me as well as many others 2014's AC Unity represents the last true "Assassin's Creed" experience.
Most of the gaming community remembers the launch of Unity back in November 2014. The game was mostly unplayable at launch, with numerous glitches, bugs, crashes. So disastrous was the launch, that Ubisoft had to issue the later DLC, Dead Kings, free of cost, as a way of apology. But after 7 years, Unity on PC, after receiving a great number of patches & updates, has become playable. The issues are still there, but they're not as disastrous as during the launch time.
Paris of 1789, during the French revolution, was a place of unrest. You'll find people gathering before palaces, shouting & protesting against the indifferent upper class citizens. Riots are frequent happenings. Because of the engine AnvilNext 2.0, the game can generate thousands of NPCs on-screen. Game director Alex Amancio has stated that they tried to create 1789's Paris on a 1:1 scale, meaning all the interesting landmarks, like the Notre-Dame, or the Louvre are designed at full size, mirroring their real life counterparts.
Assassin’s Creed Unity is an action/adventure game set in the city of Paris during one of its darkest hours, the French Revolution. Take ownership of the story by customizing Arno's equipment to make the experience unique to you, both visually and mechanically. In addition to an epic single-player experience, Assassin’s Creed Unity delivers the excitement of playing with up to three friends through online cooperative gameplay in specific missions. Throughout the game, take part in one of the most pivotal moments of French history in a compelling storyline and a breath-taking playground that brought you the city of lights of today.
