ASSERTION \& REASON
(1) If both Assertion (A) and Reason (R) are True and the Reason (R) is a correct explanation of the Assertion (A).
(2) If both Assertion (A) and Reason (R) are True but Reason (R) is not a correct explanation of the Assertion (A).
(3) If Assertion (A) is True but the Reason (R) is False.
(4) Assertion (A) is False but Reason ( \( \mathrm{R}) \) is True.
An uniform disc is rotating at a constant speed in a vertical plane about a fixed horizontal axis passing through the centre of the disc. A piece of the disc from its rim detaches itself from the disc at the instant when it is at horizontal level with the centre of the disc and moving upwards, then about the fixed axis.
Assertion (A): Angular speed of the disc about the axis of rotation will increase.
Reason (R): Moment of inertia of the disc is decreased about the axis of rotation.
