Asura Blade: Sword of Dynasty (Footee) - Arcade Gameplay - (2K 60fps)
The Asura series is composed of two little-known 2D arcade fighting games (The first one, Asura Blade: Sword of Dynasty, was released in 1998, and its' sequel, Asura Buster: Eternal Warriors was released two years later in 2000) created by a small Japanese video game company named Fuuki. It mostly revolves around weapons fighting and sorcery, and it's stylized backgrounds are surprisingly detailed and eye-catching.
The storyline of Asura Blade: Sword of Dynasty deals with a cruel and ruthless warlord named S. Geist who supposedly wields the legendary Sword of Dynasty and that he seeks to release an ancient sealed beast known only as the Earth Dragon so that he can harness its destructive power and easily Take Over the World. Eight warriors have set out upon their own personal journeys to find the Sword of Dynasty, not knowing that their paths will cross with each other and that their own battles would eventually determine the fate of the world itself.
Asura Buster: Eternal Warriors, which is set three years later after Asura Blade: Sword of Dynasty would center around a megalomaniacal king who had sought to make himself into the absolute ruler of the entire world and that he would threaten and eliminate those who would dare to oppose him. Some of the fighters from the last game, along with a few new ones, set out to stop the tyrant before he's able to go through with his malevolent ambition.
Even though the Asura series didn't exactly catch on during the time of fighting game craze and that its own developing company, Fuuki went out of business a few years later, it has since gained a small Cult Classic following, especially when it was discovered from within MAME.
