We decided to run a non-scientific Cellular data speed test between all four major carriers and their premier devices. Using an iPhone 4G for AT&T, G2 & Sidekick 4G for T-Mobile, EVO for Sprint and the Thunderbolt for Verizon.

We should not, the iPhone Does not run on a 4G network and T-Mobile's 4G network's maximum data speed of 21Mbps is not nationwide and not in our test area; as well as using two devices form T-mobile that support two different maximum data speeds (G2-14.4Mbps, Sidekick 4G-21Mbps)

Devices AVG Speed Test Downloads

Thunderbolt (LTE) 24.6Mbps
Sidekick 4G (HSPA+) 7.7Mbps
EVO (Wimax) 6.1Mbps
iPhone 4G (3G) 4.6Mbps
G2 (HSPA+) 4.0Mbps

Devices AVG Speed Test Uploads

Thunderbolt (LTE) 4.1Mbps
G2 (HSPA+) 3.4Mbps
iPhone4G (3G) 1.9Mbps
Sidekick 4G 1.7Mbps
EVO (Wimax) 0.62Mbps

Conclusion

Its quite clear that Verizon Wireless LTE has the advantage when it comes to download speeds in the mobile space. T-Mobile's HSPA+ network is the second best 4G network, but download speed differ with devices (14.4Mbps or 21MPbs) and also their current maximum network speed of 21Mbps is not nationwide and not in my area. AT&T's iPhone did considerable well for a non 4G data device, surpassing T-Mobile G2 on downloads.

AS for uploads, it was quite clear that Sprint's WIMAX 4G network had the slowest upload speeds and Verizon's LTE network came up the winner, but by a smaller margin against T-Mobile's HSPA+ network.

This Shows that Verizon's Clear of having the Fastest 4G network in America is True. Though their new laid our LTE network
