In which I play "Caverns of Mars II" by Greg Christensen in 1981. I'm not sure what makes this a sequel to "Caverns of Mars", other than a certain similarity in graphical style. It's a simple game modeled on "Scramble", the Konami arcade game from the same year. It also closely resembles "Super Cobra", also by Konami, also from 1981. I'm not sure why Konami did that. Slightly different games for different territories, maybe? In any case, it plays well enough, but is not a deep game. After getting to and through the "base", the game wraps. It isn't any harder in the second loop, so there's not any additional game play there, which is a bit unfortunate. Also, it doesn't have a bombing mechanism, which certainly adds to the arcade games it is based on.
