Atari 800 Game: Knockout (1982 Microcomputer Games Inc.)
A boxing game where you are given an elevation of the ring and you are one of the two boxers throwing three different punches. Your opponent can block your attack. You score points if your attacks are not blocked. 30 head-shots in a round may earn you a technical knockout which is the only knockout available. Without knockouts, it is 5 to 15 rounds and three minutes per round can give you a genuine endurance contest. Wear down a friend or just a single joystick or allow the CPU to take both boxers. The footwork and the back-and-forth moves are simple like int he real ring which is the key to championship. You can see scores, rounds, and time displayed large enough to play the window to let a quick glance tell you where you are, but your boxer will also grunt and drop his jaw each time he gets hit. The bell will go off once it hits zero including 30 seconds of rest between rounds.
