ATC Audio: Transavia 737 in Heavy Wind Shear Trouble! [25-7-2015, Subtitles Included]
Quite a frightning situation for HV5068 (TRA3K) as they encounter wind shear while low on fuel after multiple go-arounds and holdings. The frightened voice of the pilots can be heard as they accidentally transmit on the frequency while making an, according to the passengers, scary and shakey go-around. Due to a summer storm, a lot of airplanes have trouble landing at Amsterdam. HV5068 (TRA3K) was travelling from Girona to Rotterdam. It could not land at Rotterdam, and had to divert to Amsterdam. As the 737 had to wait in holding patterns for a long time and after the initial go-around at Rotterdam, the aircraft was getting low on fuel.
When approaching runway 27 at Amsterdam, the aircraft encounters heavy wind shear and has to go around yet again. This puts the pilots in a scary situation as they are getting low on fuel and because they have trouble controlling the aircraft. All this can be heard in the recorded ATC audio recorded from the http://liveatc.net audio archive.
The crew makes an emergency landing, but arrives safely at Amsterdam. The actual landing can be viewed here:

Feel free to discuss this situation below, but keep it nice! I think the pilots did a great job as it was very difficult to land in those wind conditions. Should they have diverted to Brussels, or should they have taken more fuel? Maybe, but let's let the investigators do that work!
