The key here turned out to be setting my Audiosurf graphics to Normal instead of Enhanced, allowing me to record at ninety frames per second (as an aside, I uploaded the full framerate file, so if Youtube ever offers higher framerates come on back and see if it gets re-encoded) . Sixty, believe it or not, wasn't quite smooth enough for me to handle some of the trickier areas in this song; the traffic sounds low, but stretched over six minutes that number doesn't tell you the whole story. There were more than a few high density slaloms that took me several tries to nail individually, let alone one after another.

Once I got my first Stealth, though, I got my second and third without too much trouble. The first two were kind of nice, Match 21 and Steatlh together, but my block collection around the first "and I say this to you tonight ... let us not forget ... there is hope" was kind of sloppy, and I couldn't resist redoing them. Got everything I wanted with the third run, and that's what you see here. Strictly speaking, this is number four, as the real number three saw me within a minute of the song's end when my contiguous hard drive space ran out, and gameplay slowed to a crawl while Fraps started sticking files wherever it could. A full recording of this entire song at 720/90p takes more than nine and a half gigs, and I had neglected to clean out some old runs. Frustrating, to put it mildly. I desperately need to get rid of some old crap and defrag this drive.

Also helping out, as I've harped on in a couple other videos, was sitting up straight. I just got a new chair for my computer desk, and between the fancypants back support and proper height armrests my arm has more freedom to move and never gets tired. When you're in the kind of atrocious physical condition I am, forearm fatigue becomes an issue with a track this long in the game. Especially that muscle where the thumb attaches to the base of your palm; whatever that's called, mine hurts like a son of a bitch.

My hat goes off to zjq, who's over six thousand points ahead of me using Ninja Mono Ironmode. I don't know how he did that, and with my .ash file I don't think I stand a chance of beating him. Well done, wherever you are!
