The narrative which has been built around Aurangzeb as being ‘a product of his time’ and a ‘misunderstood king’ has prompted the author to look for the historical accuracy of this portrayal. The reign of Aurangzeb is mired in claims and counterclaims. Who was he really? As described by his court records and chronicles of contemporaries or the reinterpretation by modern-day historians?
This book is an attempt at a fact-finding exercise.

About the speaker:
Born in Pune & now residing in Mumbai, Shri Saurabh Lohogaokar was interested in India's history from a very young age. This curiosity led to a vast reading horizon, and now after over two years of painstaking research, it has shaped his debut book.
