Recorded near Lębork, Poland (54.5 N ). Timelapse covers time from 22:12 to 02:49 local time (UTC+2). Everything was perfect. A dark sky, the Perseids, no clouds, a viewing spot in the far north of Poland, and most importantly, the magnificent Northern Lights. They were visible from dusk, glowing in the setting Sun's afterglow. Then, the aurora erupted twice—first at 23:10, then around 00:27. Within minutes of these colorful bursts, the entire northern part of the sky was lit up. The pillars reached 60 degrees above the horizon, colors were visible to the naked eye, and the aurora cast a clear shadow. Later, the northern lights dimmed a bit, but they remained more or less visible to the naked eye for the rest of the night. Even when Bz turned northward at 2:30, the aurora was still there for a while. And then, there were the Perseids, streaking across the sky like crazy. Nights like this are remembered for a lifetime.
