Automated Stress Machine (Modded 1.16.5)
0Since Minecraft 1.16.5 released, a lot of things got broken. It's even worse in 1.18.2 where some mods are even dead on arrival.
In this case, Bundled Cable got broken and then subsequently replaced by another mod and removed altogether. More Red network cables replace functionality that was destroyed in ProjectRed regressions.
The replacement is not obvious and the modding platform sidelines such regressions instead of making them known so they can be fixed.
These issues often cannot be pointed out immediately because they are either unknown at development time without adequate testing or because they are known and deliberately not fixed for many other restrictive reasons.
Such reasons include lack of funding, exclusive technology (in the case of 32-bit and 64-bit systems without ReBAR) and illegibly optimised binaries.
There are also both real laws and fake laws (and legal proceedings) set by companies surrounding these issues which also prevents progress.
To add insult to injury, out of spite, the developer community will not report these bugs but instead will make YouTube videos about how broken they are and all their flaws if they don't get fixed after a certain period of time.
The inner workings of this stress machine symbolises the current turmoil and unfair backlash facing developers, scientists and engineers in 2022.
