Avowed Doesn't Have Any Fans
173It’s one thing for Avowed to look mediocre but I was surprised that it was so difficult to really find any online communities that are interested in it.
RPG sites and even the Avowed sub-reddit seem very indifferent at best on the game. That is also the problem, it’s not a game anyone really hates (like say The Day Before), it’s mostly apathy. People have been burned by average games before and as the marketing has shown nothing for us to get excited about, people are simply dismissing it.
This seems to be the post Baldur’s Gate 3 standard. If your RPG looks average, people won’t get excite for it purely because it’s a single player RPG without micro transactions. The bar isn’t that low anymore, people expect some sort of quality if they’re going to part with their money.
