Over the last week or so, Fractal Audio have been releasing beta versions of their forthcoming Firmware V18 which features their new G3 modelling. Here I give you a quick glimpse of just one of the amps available - the mighty Friedman BE through a Marshall TV 4x12 with Greenbacks. Unfortunately for me, this is probably the closest I'll ever get to playing through a Friedman as my financial situation prevents me from owning the real thing. So I'd be interested to hear from those more fortunate than I, who do own the real thing, as to how this emulation might compare.

The guitar is a Music Man Axis and the only mod I've to it was to add an EVH D-Tuna.

The Axe FX II is running directly to Pro Tools via an MBox 3 Pro. The only plug I added to the mix was a Waves L3-16 Limiter to keep the levels in check.

Special thanks to Andrew Farnham at Independent Music, Australia, and Carole Johnson at CMC Music Australia.

Rock on. Thanks for watching.

Brett K.
