Addressing a public meeting in Jhargram, West Bengal, PM Modi said, “Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was against reservations based on religion. This is the fundamental spirit of our Constitution. However, the INDI alliance wants to allocate SC, ST, and OBC reservations to their vote bank across the country. They have already taken away OBC reservations in Karnataka and given them to Muslims. I challenged Congress and the INDI alliance on April 23rd. I asked Congress to commit in writing that they will not take away SC, ST, and OBC reservations and give them to Muslims. Since then, Congress and the INDI alliance have been silent, unable to respond. It has been 27 days, and Congress has not given any answer. And I know, Congress will not respond.”
