This is a review of the Bachmann Class 40 Diesel Locomotive in British Rail Blue livery. The model in this review is a customised version of the Class 40 as this one is 40186 in BR Blue livery and I had the modifications carried out by Peak Dale Resprays which are located near Manchester. The front has been detailled at the bufferbeam as the air brake pipes and a non-working screwlink chain coupler has been added to the front as well as the plates have been painted red at each end. The wheelrims have been painted which as I have made 40186 to look what it might have been like if it got preserved, but sadly the real locomotive was cut up in 1987, just two years later after riding it to Skegness back in 1985 on Holiday! This OO gauge model however will keep the legend alive and I am thinking about naming this model in loving memory of my nan who sadly passed away in July 2010. The model has an 8-pin DCC socket and it is nicely detailed as the roof fan is in the correct red colour and the model has NEM couplings as well.

Overall Rating: 10/10
