] The 2012 Bahrain International Airshow was opened on January 19 by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. 84 aircraft from 15 countries were on display with an Airbus A380 flying in for the first day of the show. Captain Abdulrahman Al Gaoud from Civil Aviation Affairs describes how the 2012 Bahrain Airshow has built on the success of the 2010 show and how vital BIAS and the aviation industry are to the Bahrain economy. All visitors will be able to enjoy the thrills of a full 4 ½ hour flying display each day and watch everything from military fast jets to gyrocopters take to the skies above the Sakhir Airbase.
