Hello everyone and welcome to Baldur's Gate 3! Before we start I want to let you all know there will be some weird and confusing cuts here and there throughout the beginning, Shadowplay has been garbage lately and randomly stops recording and also ends up with 5 second corruption points in recordings periodically. I'm trying to fix it but I have no idea how to, I've tried everything I can think of. Alright so on to Baldur's Gate then. I have been very much looking forward to this ever since I first saw any information about it. I have never played the first two games that I can recall so it wasn't the name that had me excited, I was excited that Larian Studios was making the game. I love Larian, they make fantastic games that I very much enjoy. Even though I never played the originals, I have played Dungeons and Dragons one time about 18 years ago. That gives me the cred here right? Alright well at least let me say this, I don't have any sort of nostalgic or personal connection to this universe but I have watched some lore videos that I found interesting and I've always loved the design of the creatures, world and people in D&D. Ok so enough about that, on to the actual game itself then.

We start the game out in a ship controlled by Mindflayers and they are sticking worms in us. They do this so that we will turn into Mindflayers ourselves, folks all over in the game aren't very happy about that but I think it may not be so bad. We would gain powers beyond our current potential right? Sounds like a blessing in disguise if you ask me, just forget about the bit where everyone seems to hate Mindflayers, we can change that no doubt. Anyway the ship is attacked by Dragons and a race of people riding them that I do not know the name of yet, they are yellow, look kind of like traditional orcs mixed with elves. Their nose is noticable, don't mention it to them. They end up being successful in their attack and the ship goes down. We survive and set out to find a cure for the parasite in our head, but as you can guess we decide to do everything but that for the time being.

Baldur's Gate 3 is amazing, an absolute blast to play. As of writing I have only played about 7 hours and the Early Access build as of now has somewhere around 25 I've read. One of the best things about the game so far is that things can change so drastically based on your decisions. There are so many possibilities here, it's a real joy just going with something and seeing where it leads. For us here, most of our decisons end up poorly for the locals. This isn't always our intent but it just happens. This will be played cooperatively and solo from time to time. I am keeping the eary access videos in one long playlist so different playthroughs will be included in it. I very much look forward to future updates and eventually the full release of the game, as of now I love it and that can only grow as time goes on.

I feel I should mention a bit about the gameplay and other things here. For me personally the gameplay is great. The only thing I wish we could have is more traditional control of our character movement outside of combat similar to more modern RPG games, I am not a fan of the old CRPG movement system where you just click and wait. I want to control my character with the camera locked behind their back so I can fully appreciate the enviroment around me and wow is the enviorment beautiful here. The areas in which we explore are beautiful, packed with all sorts of interesting things to look at and natural formations all around that would be breathtaking if seen in person. Larian did a truly exceptional job at making a solid and consistent world for us to run around in. And the music is absolutely on point, it's exactly what I wanted and then some. It fits every situation perfectly and brings the whole experience up a notch or two. All in all I don't have much of anything to complain about, the game is great and I urge to you go ahead and purchase it right now and join the world of Faerun. Have a nice day and thanks for stopping by!
