This may not be the most incredible exploit ever but now that I've discovered it I wonder where else it can be used to access areas early...

Another location where I can confirm this works is the "Sinister Door" in Cazador's palace, allowing you to bypass it without the normally required items. However, once you reach the dungeon below there is another door magically sealed door that I was not able to bypass, so in this case you'd have to get the items anyway.

Also this trick might work for any spell where you teleport yourself or someone else, such as Dimension Door, Resurrection, etc. I haven't tried these though.
