Bambi: Love is a Song
34I love the Bambi score by Edward Plumb and Frank Churchill! Bambi is a Disney classic! It came out in 1942, during World War II. Disney animators created their drawings based on real, live forest animals. It was based on a book called Bambi, A Life in the Woods. Bambi becomes friends with a rabbit named Thumper, a skunk named Flower, and likes a doe named Faline. Bambi's dad is The Great Prince of the Forest.
Disney has a theme of killing off the parents of characters in it's movies. For instance, in Lion King, Simba's dad, Mufasa, is killed by Scar because he wants to be king. In Bambi, Bambi's mom is shot by hunters during a harsh winter. And of course, Bambi has a romance plot - Ronno wants Faline. Bambi fights Ronno for Faline - too bad reality shows don't do love stories like Bambi! I'd say Bambi is a bachelor in terms of classic Disney characters. Lion King doesn't even come close to Bambi. Bambi is a really special Disney movie and they don't make them like this anymore. I always wanted to see a Bambi video game produced - Disney never made it happen. They made a Sega Genesis game for Lion King - why not Bambi?
Disney made live action versions of Snow White - such as Snow White and the Huntsman. Disney should do a live action version of Bambi. They did it with Snow White.
