So the fish is harvested continually, but the farms and orchards only once a year. The villagers want to eat all kinds of foods equally, and we have a food production surplus. Every autumn we end up with food left on the farms because we max out the storage, but fish gets added back throughout the year, and eventually we're going to have a lot of fish and not much of anything else. Emergent game mechanics.
