This is for those out there that are interested in the hunting horn (bless you) but have no clue how it works. It can be outright daunting to pick up. It's slow, feels a little clunky at first, and all the little tricks can boggle the mind if you're new.

Thankfully there's a slew of tricks that make maintaining your buffs (and therefore your damage) throughout the fight. Just remember the basic rules. Don't hit random notes, actually HIT the monster with your note swings/ performances/encores, and don't get too over aggressive. It's easy to get the mindset of a rock star when you're on a tear and get put in your place.. trust me I know.

The other important aspect is picking the right horn for the job. With the HH it's never as easy as "This element counters the monster so I'll use it!" Think of what attacks or blights it causes. Maybe negate environmental dmg would be better (If you're hunting a great Girros or Odagaron), poison restorative against Pukei Pukei, etc.
