Barley, Corn, and Cotton Harvesting: Transportation of Cotton Bales | Elmcreek Farm | FS 22 | #148
404Welcome back to the Elmcreek Farm Timelapse. Our initial step involves deploying the John Deere CS770 Cotton Stripper to the first cotton field, where we assign an employee to commence cotton harvesting. Concurrently, we mobilize the JOHN DEERE S790 combine and accompanying vehicles to another field in order to harvest barley.
At this location, we utilize the combine to efficiently thresh the barley while employing a baler attachment to create straw bales. Our diligent tractor attendants then gather and transport the bales away from the combine, ensuring the smooth removal of the grain. Following the successful completion of the barley harvest, we acquire an adjacent field that already boasts matured corn.
With a change of header on the combine, we embark on the corn harvesting process. Meanwhile, the cotton harvester is transferred to a different field to continue its operations. Once the grain harvest concludes, we return the harvester and other equipment to the designated parking lot.
Next, we affix a platform to our truck and proceed to the field to collect the bales. Our transportation endeavors begin with the relocation of the straw bales, followed by the collection and transportation of the cotton bales. Some of the cotton bales are destined for the spinning mill, where they will undergo fabric production, while the remainder are unloaded and temporarily stored under a shelter.
