Basically Skip Crystal Man's Stage in Mega Man 5 (NES) - A Wild Glitch Appears! #shorts
10,017In Mega Man 5 there's a way to skip the majority of Crystal Man's level by executing a well-timed death.
In the very first room of the Crystal Man stage, there are these crazy floating-head robots that walk back and forth with little regard for your personal space. At the far right section of the room, there is a raised floor with two of those such enemies, which are called Pukapuckers.
On that section of the room, if you're approaching from the left and you manage to die to the penultimate Pukapucker in a very specific spot - just as the rightmost enemy spawns onto the screen - you will notice that the last Pukapucker in the room will spawn with no head. In other words, you'll want to die on the same frame that the rightmost enemy appears onto the screen.
Furthermore, you will notice that your game seems to be stuck for a solid minute or so. After a while, the game will decide to place Mega Man at the check point between the boss doors right before Crystal Man, and you've essentially just skipped 95% of the stage. Despite having to wait a long time for the game to place Mega Man at the boss room, this trick will allow you to beat Crystal Man's level very fast, and this trick will save you about 20 seconds in a speedrun.
