I missed out on Arkham city the first couple times around, so when I found out it would be heading onto the Wii U, I was stoked.
My favorite thing about the game was the amount of side missions and content that were available. In fact, I was too busy doing the additional missions for a great majority of my time, as opposed to focusing on the main mission.
Flying, Gliding and bat-grappling all over Arkham City was extremely satisfying and there were times where I felt like I was really THE BATMAN.
The addition of the Wii U game pad in this game is seamless. The game pad's speakers allow you to Listen to bad guys talk about being terrified about the batman, to talking about other villians was awesome and gave the game a real sense of life. Stalking prey using detective mode and then beating the crap out of them was amazing. The A.I in this game seems real and there are times when thugs respond to your actions and the environment so it adds a great dimension to the gameplay.
The game pad also allows you to switch between the various gadgets, weapons and items you carry around making for a different type of gameplay compared to previous versions of this game.
The main notable additions of this version are the B.A.T. Mode that allows you to absorb inflicted damage to unload a fury of batman bad-ass-ness at your enemies. Also, the integration of the gamepad.
The fighting is easy to pick up on, and I loved how the music changes depending on what is going on the screen, it gives it a real cinematic mood that they captured perfectly in this game.
The graphics I would say are awesome. I love the dark, gritty feeling of this game. The voice acting is perfect, Mark Hamill is hands down the best joker ever in my opinion.
Now even though this game is old, I will not spoil the storyline for those that like me, are experiencing it for the first time. However, I will say that this game provides a very satisfying storyline with some of the series most memorable characters and villains.
I honestly couldn't get enough of this game. I feel this review doesn't do the game justice.
If you enjoyed Arkham City on the other platforms, this game offers all the DLC content right from the start up. If you have yet to experience Arkham City and own a Wii U, this is a must have. I would venture to say that this is my favorite game on the console since getting a Wii U at Launch.
