BATMAN CAPED CRUSADER

It has been a while since I saw a DC Animated show. Some of my favorite shows are classics like BTAS, Flashpoint Paradox. There has been few Justice League ones like Justice League War and Justice League Dark. In Batman, you have a line up of classic shows and movies right from BTAS, Mask of the Phantasm, Under the red hood, then Batman Year One, and TDKR 1 & 2.
Coming to Caped Crusader, I saw mentions of it and names behind it …Bruce Timm…Ed Brubaker..J J Abrams…and checked it out blind. While the first episode was humdrum, with a female Penguin, from the second episode on, it was sailing smoothly. You get acquainted with the detective-noir world, the atmosphere…because these shows are mostly about getting the atmosphere right. The characters are a mix of popular ones and few unsung ones, lots of easter eggs too. Fine detailing in frames. In one scene, Alfred probes a bit too much into Bruce and he says, this coffee is cold. One episode with Firebug is fun. Harleyquinn one is quite scary. Harvey Dent voiced by Diedrich Bader gets to do a lot. Hamish Linklater makes you not miss Kevin Conroy that much.
The score by Frederick Wiedmann is great. Towards the mid episodes theres a dip, with one villain beyond the grave, a royal princely ghost types, but post that all the episodes just keep getting better till the finale which is the best of the lot.
