So here is a capture of a Sega Game Gear game converted to run on the Sega Master System by Revo; the process was nicknamed 'GG2SMS.'
The patch to make the original Game Gear game to run on the Master System can be downloaded @ http://www.smspower.org/Hacks/Battleship-GG-GG2SMS
I only captured one match here. I never really ever played more than three games at a time, and never saved the passwords...
I remember playing this on my Game Gear; it is a short and easy title to play for a change of pace. I am not really a fan of the slight rules change, with the missiles to be able to launch a pattern of fire for a few turns, but I guess the developer wanted to make something different to stand out.
Also, the submarine is missing, one of the 3 hit ships. So, instead of 5 ships, the game only uses 4. The play area is also a different dimension from the original board game.
A decent enough effort, although the background music will get annoying after playing many games.
The GG2SMS port has a little extra graphics on the screen, but this does not distract from the gameplay in my opinion. Revo did his usual great job here!
