Note: You should have a CLEAN INSTALL of your game before installing the mod (i.e. no other mods installed), otherwise you will have a faulty installation.

*I will also make a separate video on how to install BEX, CAB, Bigger Drops, CAC-C TBD, Mechpack and 12 mechs pack in one go in the future, for the maximum experience you can get with Battletech Extended!

Note: I stand corrected. BEX is NOT compatible with vanilla saves (Hence I've omitted that section of the video). Even if it does load successfully, you might experience very long repair times. The tooltip of the mod says this. There are also some features of BEX that may not initialize properly if you play a vanilla save. You have to COMPLETELY start from scratch, and picking your year start is VERY IMPORTANT (unless you disable the FP_Loremod to remove the time lock of all flashpoints in the game).

Tip and some spoiler:

If you are going to start from scratch - either choose a 3020 or a 3030 start, the earlier the year the more leeway you have to do the campaign and flashpoints. This is because Comstar will only be around until the year 3052 and some flashpoints will also be time locked after that. They will be replaced by Word of Blake. They use all comstar mechs except a few more mechs. Travelling between systems takes a lot of time so it shouldn't worry you that it may take ages to advance the time. The only downside is it will cost you a lot due to the monthly payments.

Big Spoiler

SLDF (i.e. Comstar) mechs are not necessarily superior over Clan mechs. Clan mech and gear is the end game and they start to appear around 3040 or so and persist forever (they don't expire. I'm in the year 3071 already and they're still there!)

Some powerful weapons only appear after the year 3051, on Fedcom and Steiner planets.
