Rereading the minutes of James Cutfield's deposition at the meeting with the Termini Imerese Magistrate, one is astonished.
There is no basis for this; it seems to be a deposition given by someone who was perhaps not even on board that night.
Nothing seems to be supported by the evidence.... a case in point: the wind speed, estimated at 120 knots!
Cutfield's situation appears much worse than that of the now defunct Schettino.
A conviction, if the defense is not particularly skilled, seems highly likely, perhaps inevitable.
