BB Plays Umineko - Part 38 (A Step Back To Reality)
I have increasingly good and no idea what's going on in this seagull story.
Heck, we haven't even seen any seagulls yet! What a rip off!!
Extra Long Theory Time!
So I've finally using my 'noggin and connecting my existing theories together to actually try and solve what happened on Rokkenjima.
Let's start with the question that's been bugging me since I made the Meta Beato=Battler theory; why would Beato feel like she's responsible for what happened? And I say 'responsible for' instead of 'could've stopped ' because, other than Episode 3, Board Beato has consistently been the one to do the killings.
She feels like she killed them. Like she took a knife and stabbed them all herself.
After thinking about it, I've come up with an answer: she solved the Epitaph. She likely could do this because, in his attempts to 'reincarnate' Beatrice, Kanon/Shannon would've learned a lot about Kinzo himself. I imagine it to be moments of him going 'You remember when we went to that bathhouse?' and stuff.
Let's remember, by the way, that the Epitaph has only been viewable by people in the last two years.
However Beato didn't care about the gold (likely due to Kinzo Trauma). So what did she do?
She told someone.
She told someone about where the gold was.
This person, now knowing of the gold under the chapel, realizes that riches for them are so close, but how to get it off the island? Surely there would be some protest if the gold was taken and it's no easy feet to move 10 tons of gold secretly. And let's remember that is was only rumored that whoever solved the Epitaph would become the head of the family. That statement only was directly given in Beatrice's first letter.
Then, once the realization of how hard it will be to get the gold hits, this person(s) formulate a plan to get rid of the family, the main people who could contest this treasure. So it is during the yearly family conference that they give little Maria a rather dangerous letter to read out at dinner. A letter that challenges everyone to gather up together to try to solve the Epitaph and get the gold.
And once their together... Well, that's where that part of the theory ends. I'm still not sure how they would've killed so many people at the same time, but gathering them all in the same place is a good start.
The best thing of this theory though is that it let's me eliminate some people as suspects. Since Kanon/Shannon needed to be able to tell this person(s) about the gold. So assuming (and this is a BIG assumption) that Shannon/Kanon only solved the Epitaph within the last year, after the last family conference, than that means Maria, Battler, George, Rudolph, Kyrie, Rosa, Eva, and Hideyoshi could not have done the killings since they have not been back to Rokkenjima in a year.
As well I feel it's safe to say Kinzo wouldn't have killed everyone (at least not for the gold) and Krauss lacks as direct motivation for the killings because he wasn't in dire financial strain due to being the one to manage all of Kinzo's money.
So that leaves me suspecting the Natsuhi, Jessica, and the servants.
To go even further, I think it's clear at this point that Beatrice was not on Rokkenjima during the Tragedy. Through the Meta lens she's trying to find out what happened, which is pointless if she was there herself when it happened. And unless the other two Gospel House servants show up, Id suggest that either Kanon or Shannon were not actually on Rokkenjima during the Tragedy.
Instead a one of those other two servants were. Making them the 19th person yet also the 18th.
Side Note:
If the 3rd ??? Tea Party really did take place in the real world then it's safe to say that any Board that ends with Eva dead isn't possible.
Also will say that this is my worst theory due to it being more or less a janga tower of insanity and guesses.
