BeamNG.drive - Tsubaki Line Downhill Touge【Blind Run】
113Blind touge runs on the Tsubaki Line in BeamNG.drive. This track was ported from Initial D Stage 8, and I had never driven this course in a sim prior to recording. I did play this stage on the Initial D Arcade Stage 8 cabinet however, so I was at least vaguely familiar with the layout. The arcade drifting physics obviously don't translate to useful brake and turn-in markers for a sim. There are deep gutters on this hill pass that are quite hard to use, but gutter runs can be done in some cars if lucky, more so the gutter lift technique. They're some of the scariest ones yet from the touge mods in BeamNG, so I stayed clear of them for the blind run. Only 1 of them is really safe to use, while the rest are quite risky due to squared edges and harsh ends. I do a full run of Tsubaki Line downhill in the Pessima LX V6 Sport, and attempt Tsubaki Line uphill in the SBR4 AWD S.
This is another really fun Japanese hill pass course, with more of the high speed flowing corners of Tsuchisaka, and the deep prominent gutters of Myogi ramped up to 11. The run was done in chase camera so the audience could see more of the course and car, and to give myself slightly better odds of surviving a blind run of the hill pass.
