After you meet with the council for the first time you get access to the Wards, there are three things you need to do before becoming a spectre and starting Shepard's epic space opera. Get an Elkoss Combine Armory License (From Expat, Delan, or Opold) depending on how you play the Conrad Verner sidequests you might need this in ME3. Talk to Conrad Verner about saving Eden Prime because if you don't and wait until after becoming a spectre you'll have to go back after finishing two plot missions instead of one to finish his quest line which is easy to forget. And lastly this is optional but a good scene to have with all the human squad mates at the beginning, take in the scenic view of the citadel across the entrance to Flux.

I'm using my male shepard in this video because my PS3 femshep I'm doing this playthrough for I saved too late to go back and do this with her.
