I sit here at the bar
I order myself another drink
I been hurting lately and
I don’t want to hurt no more
Then this woman came and sat by my side
She said “I’m alone too, did you want a little company tonight?”
I turned and I looked at her
I could see it in her eyes
Her tears want to come out
But they don’t

I said “your place or mine?”
She said “take me anywhere I don’t mind, I just need to feel something other than hurt every once in awhile”
We get to my place, I take off her coat
She’s got those tears in her eyes
I put on some music and bring over some wine
We start talking, we’re just killing time
She told me stories
About when she was growing up and the pain she’s felt from all the things she’s lost
But she keeps on keeping on cause she is certain of all the things she still has left
By this time we’ve finished 3 bottles of wine and she has something else on her mind
She said “I need some love tonight, don’t burden your mind if it feels right”

I reveal myself to you
Hollow and naked, bounded by scars
Feeling insecure and I don’t feel like I’m getting very far
Still wishing for a better life with every shooting star
