Beware - The First Horror Driving Game
Beware Is A Horror Driving Game With The Objective To Escape The Pursuers.
The dark, dreary, desolate, fog-choked world in which you find yourself driving poses many questions: where is everyone? Why is every car, trailer, and house abandoned? Why is the power cut off? Why do cow bones strew the mud-ridden fields? Why are you out driving at this time of night in the fog?
Before these queries can be answered, however, the eery silence is broken by the roar of a car engine and the night is shattered by headlights in your rearview mirror. Someone, or perhaps something, is following you. All you know is that they mean you harm, and you must do everything in your power to evade them and escape this nightmare. One question remains: how long can you keep driving?
Current plot
Starting in a trailer park at night, the player drives down the road until they pass a hydro-electric power plant, from which point onwards you are hunted by the Pursuers, hulking enemies in black suits with grotesque faces hell-bent on wrecking your car and killing you. They pursue you in a vehicle of their own, one with greater speed but lesser agility, enabling you to temporarily escape them with clever maneuvering, quick thinking, or using your superior handling to evade them on twisty roads.
The player's goal, as cryptically explained by a strange old woman (nicknamed the Babushka), is to infiltrate the power plant and reactivate the power. If you donate to the creator's Patreon, you can also aid her husband, the Old Man, in trying to get a Child (possibly his grandchild) to safety.
The player is free to explore the world around them, featuring a number of locations such as towns, long country roads, forests, bridges, and isolated farms among many other unique areas.
