A few anti-piracy measures and bugs in the recently patched Binary Monsters III - School Fighter, a Double Dragon clone for the Game Boy Color, published by Gowin in 2001. The game, like a majority of Gowin's GBC titles, contains unique copy protection logic gates and chips located on the cartridges which are unsupported by all currently known emulators and flashcarts, causing the game to fail to boot (or in School Fighter's case, it can get to the Stage 1 screen, but once you try to enter the stage, the game immediately freezes). The game recently got a much-needed patch on November 23rd, 2021, which bypasses the anti-piracy checks and makes the game playable from start to finish...except maybe there are additional checks that slipped through the cracks. There's also a few bugs which could be linked to said anti-piracy deprotection checks, that I accidentally discovered while fooling around with the game, a few days after the patch released.
