So I've finally moved to Norway! I'm not completely settled yet, but already I've realised this place has some crazy weather! So with Summer winding down and Winter fast approaching it got me thinking about ice.
With that I present my Top 5 list of Ice Levels in Video Games. When you think about it, you're spoilt for choice. Call of Duty winter camo is all the rage this season. Nintendo are always good for some winter fun, whether it's Donkey Kong freezing in the tropics or some of the classic Super Mario levels. And then there's the games where ever level sees you skidding around in sub-zero temperatures! Think Ice Climbers, Antarctic Adventure and SkiFree. So has your game made the cut? We'll see!
And, of course, no ice related video is complete without talking about ALS and the Ice Bucket Challenge.
ALS, or Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (also know as motor nueron diesease or Lou Gehrig's disease), is a neurodegenerative disease that breaks down the pathways that carry singles from the brain to the body's muscles. This causes the muscles to waste & atrophy and sufferers to initially lose voluntry motor control and eventually involuntry muscle control (such as breathing). As of yet there is no cure and the internet has rallied behind the Ice Bucket Challenge to help raise awareness and money for research.
Watch as I brave the freezing waters and challenge @PixelTwitchTV, @Sparrowsjourney and @Boneloaf to take up the icy gauntlet.
