BJP Manifesto Has Given Strong Expectations With Focus On Reforms Till 2047: Nilesh Shah
0The first term of the Modi government – Modi 1.0 – from 2014 to 2019, was about repair. Banks had to be recapitalised. Corporate governance had to be improved. Policy paralysis had to be reworked. So that was the repair phase. Then came the growth phase in Modi 2.0 (2019 to 2024). Taxes came down. Capital expenditure went up. Infrastructure started booming. What do you think will be the main headline from the market standpoint for Modi 3.0?
Nilesh Shah: I think the prime minister and the party's manifesto have already indicated what we should expect and the big headline is going to be, like reforms 2047 or goal 2047. I think clearly it is going to be that. And maybe what was not or could not be done in the last 10 years will probably be done maybe in the next quarter or 10 months of assuming power or during the course of the next six months after returning power. Probably labour and agriculture reforms would become the big focus areas.
