Some aspects of this are consistent. But it will probably never be as good as he managed to get it.

There's a strange glitch going on where, if you execute the fight like this, flames will stay on screen and persist.

This seemingly happens as a result of your first lantern's shots making contact with an enemy while you queue up a second set of shots.

Furthermore, those first shots gain the properties of your second set within a very small window of time. It's possible to get big Lvl 3 flames for your permanent flames but at best I was only ever able to get medium, Lvl2 flames.

After BK starts moving toward the right, the first flame I fire was mashed out very hard to fire as soon as possible with the second one done very similarly while falling to the right, mashed slightly less hard.

The 3rd lantern I try to fall more to the right so I delay it a bit more. The magnetic dirt is less likely to hit me and more likely to empower my flames because I'm further to the right.

Being more to the right increases safety but falling down further makes it more likely that you just won't level up flames or hit BK with your lantern shot.

You're basically firing the lantern as soon as you can tell it will be a Lvl3 shot. The 4th lantern could be fired as a Lv3 before I land but it's very difficult to have done so without lowering to much.
