IMPORTANT: You can't get the ATTUNED SPECTRAL SHIELD in CUSTOM GAMES or on CASUAL.

To upgrade the SHIELD in BLOOD OF THE DEAD, you're gonna need a few things: The SPECTRAL SHIELD, of course, the HELL'S RETRIEVER and the mystery box location.

Now once you have both items, find a MYSTERY BOX and open it up until the LOCK appears. The lock appears when the mystery box stops giving you items at the location it's at and will move next turn.

When the LOCK appears, you need to act fast. FIRST, SHOOT it with your KEY from the SPECTRAL SHIELD. This is the attack that drains zombies spectral energy, I.E the STANDARD R2 attack with the SHIELD equipped.

If performed correctly, the LOCK SHOULD TURN from glowing RED to BLUE. Now you need to quickly throw the HELL'S RETRIEVER at it. If done right, the RETRIEVER should bring the LOCK back to you. You have to do both of these steps FAST, so have the SHIELD up and ready after opening the MYSTERY BOX to make sure you have enough time.
