if you asking what is the game that looks and "able to" plays similar to Phantom Breaker Extra, I would point to Blade Arcus from Shining EX immediately, because you can set the controller to "Simple" so you can just press a single directional button + action button to perform moves, and you don't need to worry about the attack moves that you don't familiar with when playing other characters anymore, however using "Simple" control will make you lose some directional attack especially performing low chain attack will be impossible, other than that for some characters it gonna goes even worse by accidentally perform the attack that leave you completely open for the opponent to charging in, So setting the control to "Simple" and blindly jump in to the game is not gonna work that easily.
that's why Training Mode exist for a reason..

talk about the combat system.
this is the weapon based fighting game that positioning and timing is heavily reward more than playing aggressively, because a lot of the attack of most characters in this game can reach over half of the screen, and they all hits ludicrously hard, so the round will able to end within 7 seconds to 15 seconds just by performing a basic attack, if you able to timing the attack in the right moment, your basic 4 hits combo will able to do the damage much~ MUCH !!! more than those 9 - 30 hits plus that you see on YouTube Videos, ( Hmm~ I wonder why, oh yeah... it's the damage reduction ), so don't feel bad if you can't do the combo, beside... performing those combo will require you to use special gauge and support gauge.
Trust me... save those for defense yourself...
because having something to counter always better than getting completely wreck…
