Bonus! Bonus! Bonus! Here is a high scoring 1 credit clear of one of the few shmups on the Neo-Geo, Yumekobo's Blazing Star, from 1998.
Yep! Yahoo! Bingo! The game's notable features are the crazy announcer and the rather bad Engrish used in the game.
The difficulty changes a lot throughout the stages, making the later stages not so difficult when compared to Stage 3 and its boss. Aside from that, it is a pretty okay game, with some flaws though.

The easiest way to score high is to get the blue gem counter to its maximum vaule as quick as possible, this is done by milking bosses, and their shootable projectiles, and also not missing a gem too. There is a big score jump on the Stage 6 boss (which is more worth milking, than clearing the final stage), if you can get that far.

I enjoy the music in Blazing Star, especially Stages 3 and 6, with Stage 5 being quite nice too.
