- Do destructive rotations in edit mode
- Select one face in edit mode - Under N side panel Click the + to add a new Transform Orientation'it will be called face
- In object mode add a new Empty'plain axes' object at your objects location'or shift+c to reset 3d cursor, ctrl+alt+shift+c - Origin to 3d cursor, then do it again and press Geometry to Origin instead'
- With empty selected select the new 'Face' transform orientation under the side N panel.
- Now click down bottom Object - Transform - Align to Transform Orientation, to align the Empty with the object.
- Now select the object first then shift select the Empty, press ctrl+p and select object to parent the object to the empty
- Select only the Empty now and press ALT+R to reset XYZ rotation values to 0, this will move the object aswell.
- Now select the object and press ALT+P and click 'Clear and keep transformation' to remove the parenting but to keep the edited rotation'which is now default'
- Delete empty
- Done

- Tips for any object,
- CTRL+L select all linked
- P seperate selection
- Have only the object you want rotation reset to be in the scene
- File - Append in object mode or Shift+F1 to load objects into your scene from other blend files.
- ALWAYS ROTATE IN OBJECT MODE AS IT IS NON DESTRUCTIVE
