Some do have trouble expressing their feelings, sure. But does that make those feelings any less genuine?
That, I'd say, is what we'll be looking at in today's episode of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
Family is family - ya love 'em no matter how different they are from you. "That's the theory of relatives!" as Robin Williams as The Genie might say, heh.
I wouldn't mind having a sister like Maud Pie. Not at all. One scene here makes it pretty obvious that she has a bit of a "If my sister's in trouble, so am I" kind of thing going. If you've ever seen the movie Sister Act, you might know the song I'm talking about. In hindsight, that's the thought (and thus song) that comes into my head at that scene...
"If my sister's in trouble,
I will always help her out.
If my sister's in trouble,
I will turn the world around.
I will fight for her right,
No matter where the trouble seems to lie!
If my sister's in trouble, so am I!
I'm talking about family,
What my sister means to me!"
That's the vibe I get from Maud, regardless of her being not very expressive. She may not say it, but the way she reacted when Pinkie Pie was in trouble... D'you see how she tore up that obstacle course and annihilated that huge boulder? That's tough, guys and gals. That's double-tough!
If she had been around when Discord was causing trouble...probably would have mucked his crap up, big time. Granted he probably still could have gotten to her somehow (even if he had to resort to what he did to Fluttershy), but at least up until then, she'd have been a force to be reckoned with.
And as always, thanks to my roommate, Narrator007, for putting together this video.
Spoilers for things used in this video! You have been warned!
