Blind Play My Way: Zelda3 Master Quest, Part 16 - ...Even Logic Tears Itself Apart!
THE END.

So what do I think of this ROMhack? I like it. I think it follows the spirit of Ocarina of Time Master Quest quite well. It doesn't go into "completely undo and rearrange the heck out of every dungeon and make things as tedious as possible" territory, while still making its changes known - just like original Master Quest. Not a bad ROMhack at all. I'd recommend it. It's at least an excuse to play through Link To The Past again, just a little differently than you might remember it. Not high on the difficulty scale, but still makes for a fresh enough experience, in my opinion. This hack gets a Thumbs Up from the Randomite King!
To make a comparison, let's take a quick look at another "Master Quest" type of Zelda 3 ROMhack, by Moulinoski.

This one image should say it all:

This "Master Quest" hack mistakes "rooms full of spike floors in most if not every dungeon in the most annoying locations possible" for "a legitimate, fair, and clever challenge". It is none of these. It's just tedious, annoying, and in a few cases, actually enforced, unavoidable damage. You don't do that in Zelda ROMhacks. Unavoidable damage is not a fair game play challenge in this genre. (The only genre that can get away with this is turn-based RPGs, if only because combat, by its very nature, lends itself to monsters typically having at least one turn to damage you. But as long as it's not abused, that's just normal play for an RPG. In a game like Legend of Zelda, this is simply unacceptable.) Further, enemies are introduced far earlier than they should. (Wall eye lasers and Wizzrobes are in Hyrule Castle, just during your trek to rescue Zelda.) And worse, many of these have glitched sprites from being called in places or with enemies that they shouldn't. This is unpolished, half-baked ROMhacking that is simply unacceptable for a classic like Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
And before you ask, YES, I did play through that Master Quest hack as well. Start to finish. I didn't enjoy much of it, and even used Save States/Rewinds. This wasn't enforced, nor was this anywhere near Parallel Worlds difficulty, but I still used them to negate some of the annoyance and tedium.
This is all I have to say about that. Jamesbrad277, you did a far superior job to Moulinoski. Hold your head up high and proud. Job well done, James.

Yes, I started playing a filler game just to give him time to continue on to the end.
